For one, the areas' maps will remain consistent from game to game, which is not the case when playing online. If someone opts to treat the game like a single-player experience, they will be afforded a few noteworthy benefits. These features might make online seem like the obvious pick for Diablo 2, but offline is not only a valid option but also preferred by many people. Online is also required to take part in Diablo 2: Resurrected's Ladder seasons. The latter should be picked if someone plans to take advantage of the game's trade system, which can be a good way to make extra cash. Blizzard's title offers players the option to pick offline or online, and they both have their positives. Largely hailed as the greatest action RPG of all time, Diablo 2 is a bona fide masterpiece that casts a wide shadow over the entire gaming industry. There is no such thing as the optimal build, and sticking to one blueprint will eventually lead to a brick wall. Customization is also a big part of the package, as players will need to regularly adapt their mecha to suit the needs of a mission. The combat blends strategy and action quite well, offering a sizable challenge along with a healthy dose of spectacle. The campaign follows a mission-based structure, most of which revolve around arena fights between mechas. And, make no mistake, Armored Core 6 is nothing like Elden Ring or Demon's Souls, and that is not a criticism. More importantly, the 2023 release introduced the franchise to a much wider audience than ever before, most of which might not be that familiar with FromSoftware's non-Soulslike projects. The mecha IP took a backseat after Dark Souls exploded in popularity, and Fires of Rubicon was the first entry in roughly a decade. The story is pretty good too, and it introduces a new playable duo who serve as great counterparts to Ratchet and Clank.įromSoftware has more to offer than just Soulslikes, and Armored Core has been a staple of the developer's portfolio for decades. While simple, the gunplay is an absolute blast, and it is enhanced by a decent progression system. Rift Apart is, ultimately, just another Ratchet & Clank adventure, albeit one fine-tuned and polished to near perfection. Ratchet & Clank has always blended third-person shooter gameplay with 3D platforming set in gorgeous worlds that present some room for exploration, even if the stories are generally quite linear. This release marks the first time the long-running franchise has been available natively on platforms such as Steam, and while newcomers might feel anxious about jumping into the 16th entry in the series, Rift Apart works fairly well as a gateway project. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart weathered the procedure better than something like The Last of Us Part 1, and Insomniac's game holds up beautifully on PC. Now, they have not all survived the transition in one piece, but most of them are at least in playable states. Slowly but surely, Sony has been bringing its console exclusives to PC.
